Liaison is a dynamic and vibrant early-music ensemble based in San Francisco, California. In addition to playing in concert halls, Liaison hopes to bring historically-informed performances to a wider range of audiences in non-traditional venues while maintaining the highest musical standards.
Winners of the 2016 Early Music America Battle of the Bands, Liaison has performed engaging concerts across the Bay Area including at Herbst Theater in San Francisco with Humanities West, in Berkeley for EMA's Young Performer's Festival andseveral times at the Fringe Festival for the Berkeley Festival and Exhibition. They enjoy collaborations with other groups representing a wide range of musical genres.
The members of Liaison are all active in the early-music community as soloists, orchestral musicians, and/or teachers. Liaison’s group name was inspired by the members’ pursuit of a collaborative, cooperative approach to ensemble music-making as well the importance of the relationship between performer and audience.
